1. Quick search
-You can make a quick search by entering one or more key words in the field provided. This search method is recommended when you know the reference or name or main features of the equipment.
-If you are on the home page, the search will be carried out in all the product families in the Brokerage Online database.
-If you are on the search page, you can choose the family (for example, ‘computers’ or ‘OS/390’) then the category (e.g. ‘laptops’ in the ‘computers’ family) for which you wish to carry out a search.
-To narrow down your search in the free text search engine, you can put ‘+’ or ‘-‘ (remember to put a space before and after each + or -)
Example 1 : Entering Thinkpad in the free text field will call up everything with Thinkpad.
Example 2 : Thinkpad – PII will call up all the Thinkpads except those with PII processors.
Example 3 : Thinkpad – PII + 450MHz will call up all the Thinkpads which don’t have a processor PII but have a frequency of 450 MHz.
Example 4 : Thinkpad PII will call up everything with Thinkpad OR PII in the title.
2. Advanced search
-An advanced search can be made by selecting a family (e.g., ‘computers’ or ‘OS/390’) then a category (e.g., ‘laptops’ in the ‘computers’ family).
Each choice of family and category will call up a different set of search criteria in the drop-down menus under “Filters” (for example, manufacturer, processor, frequency, etc), to help you narrow down your search.
3. Results display
-The results are displayed as a table with 4 columns:
- -manufacturer reference
- -description of the equipment
- -quantity
- -a
button: when you click on this, the item is selected
-Clicking on the manufacturer reference number displays all the technical details of the equipment.
The search calls up a maximum of 100 items and displays them by manufacturer.
4. Asking for a quote
-To request a quote for equipment, click on in the table of results to select the equipment you want.
Once you have selected all the equipment you are interested in, go to ‘My selection’ to submit the quote request.
