Fast resumption of business after an incident is vital for your company. ECS’ cold backup services enable you to anticipate major breakdowns and minimise the impact on your business.
ECS provides its clients with a multi-platform cold backup solution: the replacement equipment is delivered to you within one working day. The service can be adapted in the event of a major server incident.
Within 24 hours, ECS can provide you with a backup X86, Solaris, pSeries or iSeries server (link to Wikipedia pages):
- Rescue Box: replacement server provided.
- Save Rescue Box: in addition to the replacement server, a compatible backup unit will also be delivered (available for iSeries and pSeries).
- Restore Rescue Box: an ECS technician will deploy the replacement server on-site.
The
Critical Data Restore (CDR) option includes a yearly test of your backups, either on-site or at our Service Centre in Noisy le Grand, near Paris. The aim of this test is to ensure that the backup was carried out successfully and to estimate the restore time.
- ECS has a wide range of backup equipment including all types of servers with the following operating systems: Windows, AIX (4.3 - 5.1), Solaris 8, OS/400 (V4R3 - V5R3).
- The backup servers are available at our Service Centre in Lognes (near Paris) and at ECS’ 25 technical facilities.
- Response times depend on SLA, ranging from 1 day to 8 hours.
- ECS will lend you a machine with the same power and capabilities.
- Lend may be extended, at no extra charge, if under ECS maintenance contract. With the CDR option:
- Backup tapes tested either in ECS’ test beds or on the site client.
- External test phase.
- Operation Report provided detailing any improvements to be made (faulty tapes, data incorrectly compressed, etc.).
